Hi City Dwellers,
Welcome back to our blog post and today we are sharing some Wednesday wisdom with you as we take a look at a famous actor in Will Smith who turned 50th on 25th September 2018.
For some of us in the Antoni Manuel HQ we have grown up on watching Will Smith in his US hit TV show ‘The Fresh Prince of Belair’ to big cinema screen hits like ‘I am Legend’, ‘I Robot’, ‘Independence Day’ amongst many others.
But today we wanted to focus on the man behind the big screens. His approach to conquering obstacles, dealing with fear and making things happen. Will Smith is very big on living life to the fullest and facing his fear that even in the movie ‘After Earth’ one of the most powerful lines was “Danger is real, fear is a choice”.
Even though this line was said in a movie it definitely sums up Will Smith’s mind-set and approach to life.
So this takes us to an 8 minute video on YouTube where Will Smith decides to do another crazy and extreme act live to the world in front of millions of viewers, friends, family and his children. To hit a milestone of 50 years on earth one would give him the benefit of the doubt to keep his feet firmly on the ground and celebrate like most people; but no Will wants to continue to maintain the mindset of challenging ourselves to push past our confort zones and face our fears no matter who’s watching and whose doubting us.
While watching the video I could imagine all the crazy thoughts that may be going through his head like ‘What if I die?’ ‘What if I never get to say goodbye?’ ‘What if I get injured and can never act anymore?’ etc etc. But once again we must take the positives from this which is greatness and fulfilment is on the other side of our fears.
So City Dwellers, go out and conquer your fears today. Go out and come home knowing that it was better in saying to yourself “Oh well at least I tried” rather than “I wonder what would have happened if I gave it a go”?
Greatness is within you but to achieve it you must be willing to step outside of you comfort zone and face fears full on. So I close by asking you ‘What WILL it take YOU to Jump?
Take a few minutes to watch the video and let us know what you think.Video Credit to YouTube.
